15 AAP candidates had asked for Shiv Sena symbol, claims Maharashtra Deputy CM Shinde

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy CM and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde claimed that 15 AAP candidates had approached him for his party’s symbol to contest the assembly elections in Delhi, but he has refused it due to his alliance yuti dharma.

Actually, Eknath Shinde had reached Thane on Sunday to attend a program on the occasion of his birthday. Where he said that a total of 15 AAP candidates had approached me. They expressed their desire to contest the elections on Shiv Sena’s symbol. But I thought that if the election symbol of bow and arrow went to them, then the votes of BJP and Shiv Sena would be divided, which would benefit others. That’s why I refused them.

‘Campaign for BJP’
Speaking at the program, the Deputy CM also said, ‘I had asked my MPs to campaign for BJP candidates in the Delhi assembly elections.’ The army chief said that he has to respect the “yuti dharma” (commitment of the alliance).

He said that many people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah wished him on his birthday. He said, ‘They welcomed me as Eknath Shinde, not as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra.’

BJP’s massive victory in Delhi
Let us tell you that in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, BJP has returned to power after 27 years with a huge majority. BJP has won 48 out of 70 seats. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party, which came to power in Delhi in 2015, 2020, was reduced to just 22 seats, while top leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia lost the elections. Apart from this, Congress failed to open its account this time too.
