The situation is not good in Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Ballia as well but the maximum impact has been seen in Prayagraj. The Sangam city where there was no place to set foot 7 months ago, now has only water. The entire Sangam area from North-South-East-West looks like a vast ocean.

The situation is worse in Prayagraj
The areas that come after the confluence of Ganga-Yamuna in Prayagraj are in a worse condition. When Ganga moves forward after the confluence, Yamuna’s water has mixed in it and these days Yamuna also has water from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The waves of Ganga from Mirzapur to Ballia are frightening. The administration is on alert mode, people have been asked to be careful.

The big Hanumanji of Prayagraj has taken Jal Samadhi
There was such a flood in the Sangam city Prayagraj that now it is difficult to find out where is Ganga and where is Yamuna. Everything has become equal from Kila Ghat to Jhunsi. Both the rivers are sounding the alarm of danger in Prayagraj. The worst condition is in the Terai areas of Ganga. Bela Kachhar, Rajapur, Teliyarganj, Sonaoti, Baghada are the areas which are in the grip of Ganga. Big Hanumanji of Prayagraj has taken Jal Samadhi. Now only the Dharmadhwaja of the temple is visible. Shankar Viman Mandap built on the banks of Sangam is also not untouched by the waves of Ganga.

In Prayagraj, flood water has entered hundreds of houses on the banks of Ganga. Food items either got washed away in the water or got spoiled again. There are many houses around Curzon Bridge and Shankar Ghat which are completely submerged. People have left the houses which do not have first or second floor and have gone to safer places, those who have houses with more than one floor have shifted to the top floor or safe floor.

NDRF teams are reaching every house
Baghada, Daraganj, Teliyarganj, Salori are the areas which get submerged first in the flood. Most of the competitive students live in these areas. NDRF teams are trying to reach every house to help the flood victims. Food items and essential medicines are also being provided to the flood victims.
