18 bank accounts of Changur Baba exposed… Transactions worth Rs 68 crore, foreign funding exposed in ED investigation

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate’s investigation is going on against Changur Baba, who is accused of illegal conversion. According to sources, the ED has so far received information about 18 out of a total of 30 bank accounts linked to Baba. Information about transactions worth about Rs 68 crore has come to light in these accounts. The officers are also surprised to see the details of transactions of such an amount.

The special thing is that about Rs 7 crore has been transferred from abroad to these accounts within just three months. Officials believe that this money has allegedly come through a foreign funding network, which was used in large-scale property purchases and conversions in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh and other places.

Apart from these accounts, the ED team is investigating every detail related to Changur Baba’s properties, income tax returns and lands. The investigating agency suspects that Baba has built valuable real estate on a large scale using foreign funding. According to reports, the religious and residential complex built by Baba in Balrampur is valued at several crores of rupees.

Sources say that the Enforcement Directorate has found many suspicious transactions in Changur Baba’s banking transactions, which include a network of NGOs, trusts and personal accounts. In the coming days, the ED may also summon people and institutions associated with these accounts for questioning.

At present, the ED is eyeing the details of the remaining 12 bank accounts and the source of funding from abroad. Along with the ED, the Income Tax Department and intelligence agencies have also become active in this matter. In this entire matter, investigation is going on regarding foreign funding, violation of laws and money laundering along with illegal conversion.
