7 MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party resigned, also left the party

January 31, 2025

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a big setback before the voting of Delhi Assembly elections. 7 MLAs have resigned from the primary membership of the party. In this election, Aam Aadmi Party had cut the tickets of all these MLAs. Among the MLAs who resigned are Rohit Mehraulia from Trilokpuri, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, Madanlal from Kasturba Nagar, Bhavana Gaur from Palam seat, BS June from Bijwasan, Pawan Sharma from Adarsh Nagar and Naresh Yadav from Mehrauli.

While resigning, Rohit Mehraulia wrote a letter to Arvind Kejriwal. He said, “I left my 15-year-old job during the Anna movement and joined you thinking that you will probably make Baba Saheb’s dreams come true by giving equal status and social justice to my society which has been suffering the pain of untouchability, discrimination and exploitation for thousands of years”.

“You had said many times on public platforms that when we come to power, we will work for the progress of the Dalit community/Valmiki community. We will make the casual workers permanent and will completely stop the contract system. Trusting your words, my community supported you unilaterally, due to which the government was formed three times in Delhi”.

In the letter, he further wrote, “Despite this, neither the contract system was stopped nor the people working on temporary jobs for 20-20 years were made permanent. Overall, you have not done anything till now to stop the discrimination and exploitation of the people of my community, rather you have only used my community as a vote bank to fulfill your political ambitions”.

Along with Rohit, MLA Naresh Yadav wrote in his resignation, “The rise of Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged from the Anna movement against corruption, was to eliminate corruption from politics. But now I am very sad that Aam Aadmi Party has not been able to reduce corruption at all. Rather, the Aam Aadmi Party itself has been engulfed in the quagmire of corruption”.

“I had joined the Aam Aadmi Party for the politics of honesty. Today, honesty is not visible anywhere. I have worked with 100% honesty for the last 10 years in the Mehrauli assembly constituency. The people of Mehrauli know that I have done the politics of honesty, politics of good behavior and politics of work”.

“I discussed with many people of Mehrauli, everyone said that the Aam Aadmi Party is now completely involved in corruption. You should leave this party because they have betrayed the people. They used to say that we will do politics of honesty but today we are completely involved in corruption”.
