After serving the country as an IPS, the story of 88-year-old Inderjit Singh Sidhu is an inspiration story for crores of youth. Even at this age, Inderjit Singh Sidhu goes out early in the morning with a cycle cart to clean the streets of Chandigarh. Industrialist Anand Mahindra has shared his video on his social media account and saluted such a silent warrior.
Anand Mahindra wrote, someone sent me this clip of Mr. Inderjit Singh Sidhu of Chandigarh. He goes out at 6 am in the quiet streets of Chandigarh Sector 49. Inderjit Singh Sidhu is a retired police officer. With a cycle cart and a sense of duty, he walks slowly along the roadside collecting garbage.
He further wrote, he says that he was very saddened by Chandigarh being ranked at the bottom in the Swachh Survekshan list. However, instead of complaining, he chose the path of action. Anand Mahindra said, every single garbage cleaned by Indrajit Singh ji is much more than cleanliness. It is an example, it is a belief. His work instills the confidence to make life meaningful regardless of age.
Anand Mahindra said, the youth in this world is often in a hurry. But the steady steps of a former police officer tell us that the purpose of life never ends. The time to serve never ends. Mahindra said, Salute to this quiet warrior of the streets.
