MP: Two real sisters fell into a borewell in Satna district, one’s body found, search for the other continues

Satna. A heart-wrenching accident took place on Sunday evening in Rerua Kala Village of Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. While playing in the field, two real sisters fell into an old borewell. The body of the elder sister Somvati (12) has been recovered, while eight-year-old Durga is still trapped in the borewell. The administration and police team are engaged in the rescue.

According to the information, Chhakku Ahirwar, a resident of Karhi village, was staying with his wife and daughters at his in-laws’ place Rerua Kala and planting saplings in the field. Meanwhile, both the daughters went to play in a nearby field, where an old borewell opened due to heavy rain became the cause of the accident. It is being told that after one girl’s foot slipped, the other ran to save her and both fell into a deep pit.

With the help of local villagers, the administration was informed. Late night, SDM Jitendra Verma, former MLA Kalpana Verma, District CEO Ashok Mishra and police force reached the spot and the rescue operation began. According to TI Ashok Pandey, every possible effort is being made to rescue the girl safely. JCB has been called at the spot, the staff is busy digging a pit with JCB for rescue.
