5 Al Jazeera journalists killed in Gaza, Israel calls one a Hamas terrorist

Tehran. Israeli security forces are carrying out rapid attacks there amid Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to completely occupy Gaza. At least five Al Jazeera journalists have been killed in these attacks. According to Al Jazeera’s report, five journalists were among the seven people killed in the Israeli attack targeting a tent for the press outside the main gate of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza city. The report said that the victims included Al Jazeera correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammad Qariqueh, as well as cameramen Ibrahim Zahir, Moamen Aliwa and Mohammad Naufal.

Soon after the attack, the Israeli army admitted to targeting Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif in a statement, calling him a terrorist and saying he had served as the head of a terrorist cell in Hamas.

Reporting the bombing before death
Moments before his death, 28-year-old al-Sharif was seen reporting on the intense Israeli bombing of Gaza city. Sharif had released a post on social media X reporting the attack. Al Jazeera’s report said that the post appears to have been posted by one of his friends, which was published from his account after receiving information about his death.

Al-Sharif’s post reads, “If these words of mine reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and suppressing my voice.” In al-Sharif’s last video, the loud sound of heavy Israeli bombardment can be heard in the background, while the dark sky is lit up with flashes of orange light.
