A brother and sister spent approximately 4 to 5 days with their deceased mother’s corpse. The incident came to light when a terrible stench began emanating from the house due to the decomposition of the body. Neighbors alerted the police, who then went inside and found the siblings with their mother’s body. Police then sent the body for a post-mortem examination, despite the son’s protest.

The deceased woman was a retired clerk.
According to information received, the deceased woman has been identified as Urmila Bhadauria, a 70-year-old retired clerk. She lived with her son, Akhand Pratap Singh Bhadauria, and daughter, Ritu Bhadauria, in their home in Madan Mohan Market, located in Dahi Mandi.

    On Friday morning, when the milkman came to deliver milk, he noticed a terrible odor coming from inside the house, and he informed the people living nearby. Upon receiving the information, neighbors and relatives immediately informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and found the body of elderly Urmila Bhadauria lying there, badly decomposed and infested with insects. Despite this, her son and daughter remained nearby.

    Neighbors said both children were mentally ill.
    Police reported that the deceased, Urmila Bhadauria, worked as a clerk at the Gorakhi School in Gwalior and had retired from there. Her husband, Surendra Bhadauria, had passed away 20 years ago. People familiar with the family said the woman has two children, both of whom are mentally challenged. Akhand has a B.Tech degree, while daughter Ritu is also educated.

    Son protested against the removal of the body.
    When the police arrived after receiving information about the incident and tried to remove the woman’s body and send it for a post-mortem examination, her son, Akhand, resisted the police. After this, the police persuaded Akhand to leave and removed the elderly woman’s body from the house and sent it to the post-mortem house.

    Abhinandan Jain, a neighbor present at the scene, described the incident, saying that elderly Urmila lived in the house with her son, Akhand, and daughter, Ritu. He became aware of the incident when the milkman came to deliver milk and smelled a foul odor. He informed me and other neighbors. Both the son and daughter are mentally challenged.

    Meanwhile, ASI H. Nayak of Kotwali police station said that the body of an elderly woman was found in a house in Dahi Mandi. The cause of her death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received. Neighbors informed the police about the incident after smelling a foul odor. The post-mortem report will clarify how the elderly woman died.
