‘Madam Wants an Assistant Who Can Slap People’: Uproar Over MP Lady Officer’s Post

Bhopal: The adage—”Madhya Pradesh is strange, and truly extraordinary”—is proving true once again. This time, a bizarre story has emerged from the state capital, Bhopal. A social media post by Lakshmi Gamad, a female officer of the Madhya Pradesh State Administrative Service currently posted in Bhopal, has gone viral. In the post, she states she is looking for an assistant capable of delivering “two slaps” to anyone—on her command and as the situation demands.

Declaring the position open on social media, Lakshmi Gamad invited interested candidates to contact her. However, her post has also led to her being heavily trolled online. One user commented, “You are an administrative officer; you should refrain from making such posts on social media.” Conversely, many other users chimed in, asking, “Tell us, Madam—when do we start the job?”

As soon as the post went viral on social media, the female officer quietly deleted it. It is worth noting that Lakshmi frequently remains in the spotlight on social media by creating and sharing various short video ‘reels.’ Gamad’s Facebook profile features a variety of these reels, many of which have been filmed at various public locations. However, she has yet to issue any clarification or explanation regarding the controversial post in question.

Separately, on May 1st (Labor Day), she shared a post extending her greetings for the occasion, which also went viral on social media. In that post, she wrote: “It is not at all true that wives only ‘drink blood’ [figuratively, by being nagging or demanding]; sometimes, out of pity for the laborers, we actually donate our blood.”
