
Ahmedabad: A massive fire broke out at a fireworks factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Saturday. According to media reports, eight people have died in the incident, while 15 are reported injured. Several fire engines are currently at the scene, trying to extinguish the blaze. According to reports, the fire broke out at the Talent fireworks factory in Mehmadpura, Ahmedabad. Explosives stored in the factory exploded, causing panic in the area.
Plumes of smoke rose several meters high
After the fire broke out at the fireworks factory, a plume of smoke rose several hundred meters high, visible from several kilometers away. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
The injured were hospitalized.
The accident occurred at the factory on Ramol-Gatra Road. Upon receiving information, more than five fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the fire and carrying out relief and rescue operations. According to preliminary information, those injured in the incident have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
PM Modi Expresses Grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in the firecracker factory accident in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. A post from the PMO’s official X handle read, “My condolences are with the families of the victims in this hour of grief. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The local administration is providing all possible assistance to the affected people. An ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each will be provided to the families of the deceased from the PMNRF. ₹50,000 will be given to the injured.”
