December 21, 2024

New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced ‘Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship’ for Dalit students. Through this scholarship, the Aam Aadmi Party government will bear the entire expenses of Dalit students dreaming of studying abroad. Apart from this, children of government employees will also be able to get the benefit of this scholarship.

Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday, 21 December 2024, made an important announcement for the people of Delhi in honor of Baba Saheb and said that if the Aam Aadmi Party wins the Delhi Assembly elections, then the Delhi government will start the Dr. Ambedkar Samman Scholarship Scheme.

Under this scheme, the Delhi government will bear the entire cost of studies of those Dalit students who have taken admission in foreign universities. Apart from this, children of government employees will also be included in this scheme.

On this occasion, Arvind Kejriwal said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar also had to leave his studies at London School of Economics (LSE) midway because he did not have money. Later, he completed his studies by arranging funds. He said, “AAP will ensure that no Dalit student of Delhi leaves his studies incomplete due to lack of money. This is our respect and true tribute to Dr. Ambedkar.”

Kejriwal made this announcement in protest against the statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament. He said, “HM Shah insulted Dr. Ambedkar in Parliament. His statement has personally hurt me and crores of Ambedkar followers. This is independent India, and no one could even think of insulting Dr. Ambedkar in Parliament.”
