After Bihar, BJP begins Mission Bengal, deploys organization ministers from six states

November 21, 2025

New Delhi: With the swearing-in ceremony in Bihar completed, the Bharatiya Janata Party has swiftly shifted its political focus to Bengal. Until now, Bengal has been considered an impregnable stronghold of Mamata Banerjee and the TMC. Long before the 2026 assembly elections, Bengal has become the BJP’s number one priority. The party has launched a “mega ground operation” here, with a structure, intensity, and political weight far more aggressive and organized than any election campaign before.

According to sources, the BJP has strategically deployed organization ministers from six states in five key zones of Bengal. They are accompanied by six senior leaders and over a dozen influential figures. Significantly, these leaders will remain in Bengal for the next five months, working on grassroots politics, booth networks, and social equations.

Which leaders have been deployed in which zone?
Chhattisgarh’s organization minister, Pawan Sai, has been given the responsibility of the Radhbanga region. Uttarakhand minister Dhan Singh Rawat will work with him. Areas like Purulia, Bankura, and Bardhaman are major targets for the BJP’s organizational expansion.
Howrah-Hooghly-Medinipur has been assigned to Delhi’s Organization Minister Pawan Rana. Senior Haryana leader Sanjay Bhatia will be stationed with him in Howrah-Hooghly.
Medinipur: UP government minister JPS Rathore has been assigned here—this is the area where Suvendu Adhikari’s influence and the fierce TMC-BJP feud always keeps the political atmosphere heated.
Kolkata Metropolitan and South 24 Parganas are handled by Himachal Pradesh’s Organization Minister M. Siddharthan. He is accompanied by Karnataka’s powerful leader CT Ravi. This region is the TMC’s strongest stronghold—hence the BJP’s deployment of a “high-impact team” here.
Navadwip and North 24 Parganas are handled by Andhra Pradesh Organization Minister N. Madhukar, along with senior UP leader Suresh Rana. This region is known for its communal sensitivity, the issue of Bangladeshi infiltration, and strong TMC vote clusters.

North Bengal: Malda-Murshidabad-Siliguri belt. Malda is under the charge of Arunachal Pradesh’s organization minister, Anant Narayan Mishra. Karnataka’s organization minister, Arun Binnadi, has been sent to Siliguri. According to sources, former Union Minister Kailash Choudhary will also play an active role here.
