
New Delhi: A few days ago, a severe earthquake in Delhi-NCR had shaken people. Now once again earthquake tremors have been felt. This time the earthquake has hit the Andaman Sea. According to the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude hit the Malaysian region near the Andaman Sea around 8:50 am on Thursday.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 75 kilometers under the sea and it was located at 5.57 degrees east longitude. This earthquake was quite intense and its tremors were felt, but the matter of relief is that till now there is no news of any loss of life or casualties.
Earlier, earthquake tremors were felt in the country’s capital Delhi and its surrounding areas on Monday morning. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 4.0. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in a post on ‘X’ that earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and surrounding areas. He urged everyone to remain calm and follow safety measures and also asked to be alert for possible tremors.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Lake Park area of Dhaula Kuan and there were reports of some people hearing a loud sound after the earthquake. The National Center for Seismology had said that the tremors were felt at 5:36 am on Monday. After the strong earthquake, Delhi Police had also urged people to call the helpline number 112 in case of emergency. Due to the strong tremors of the earthquake, people living in high-rise buildings in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad came out of their homes.
