Another Hindu Youth Killed in Bangladesh, Lynched by Mob; Second Incident in 7 Days

New Delhi: Unrest continues unabated in Bangladesh. Another case of a Hindu man being murdered has come to light. A mob beat another Hindu youth to death. Police say the attack was related to extortion. According to a report in the Daily Star, a group of villagers lynched a Hindu man in the Rajbari district of Bangladesh late Wednesday night, accusing him of extortion.

The mob attacked around 11 pm on Wednesday night, police officials said. This incident comes just days after the mob lynching of another Hindu man named Dipu Chandra. Dipu Chandra Das, a 27-year-old Hindu man, was beaten to death by a mob in the Bhaluka area of ​​Mymensingh, and his body was subsequently burned.

According to the Daily Star, Debabrata Sarkar, the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Pangsha Circle, said that police arrived at the scene after receiving information that a man had been attacked by locals. The victim was identified as Amrit Mandal, also known as Samrat. Police found him in a critical condition and took him to the hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead.
