Baba Bageshwar’s brother Shaligram Garg arrested; accused of firing a gun amidst a land dispute

Chhatarpur: Police have arrested Shaligram Garg, the brother of Bageshwar Maharaj, in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district in connection with a land dispute case. Ankit Mishra has also been taken into custody, while a search is underway for another accused. Following their arrest, both accused were produced before the Rajnagar Court.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 3 PM on July 14. Motilal Kushwaha, a resident of Konda village under the Rajnagar police station area, alleged that he was present in the village with his associates when Shaligram Garg arrived there accompanied by Satish, Ashish, and another individual.


  • Allegations of assault and firing over a land dispute
    The victim alleges that the accused began hurling abuses immediately upon arrival and assaulted them using sticks and clubs. It is alleged that three rounds were fired during the incident. The event created an atmosphere of tension in the area. Videos of the incident have also gone viral on social media, and the police are investigating the matter based on these clips.

    Police searching for another accused
    Speaking on the incident, Additional SP Aditya Patle stated that Shaligram Garg and Ankit Mishra have been taken into custody, and the search for another accused is ongoing. He confirmed that the case stems from a land dispute and that the Rajnagar police have taken action. He added that the investigation is underway, and further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge. Notably, Shaligram Garg’s name has surfaced in several controversies previously; he has faced allegations involving brandishing a pistol, issuing threats, assault, and altercations with toll plaza staff.
