“Chief Minister, you can take any action against me, but…” Actor Vijay releases video message for the first time after Karur stampede

Desk: Party chief actor Vijay has broken his silence on the stampede at the Tamilga Vetti Kazhagam (TVK) rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu. Two days after 41 people died in the incident, actor Vijay said on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) that he had never faced such a tragic situation in his life. He added that the truth about the stampede would soon be revealed.

TVK chief actor Vijay posted a video on the social media platform X on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) from TVK’s official handle. In the video post, the TVK chief expressed his condolences for the victims of the Karur stampede and wished the injured a speedy recovery. In the video, he expressed his deep sadness over the tragedy.

He said, “My heart is filled with worry. What shouldn’t have happened has happened.” I have never faced such a painful situation in my life. Putting politics aside, we always ask the police for permission to move to a safe place.

TVK chief Vijay said in a video post that he has not yet met with the affected people. He said, “I did not visit Karur because it could have created an unusual situation. I will meet you (the families of the victims and injured) soon.”
