Cloud burst in Dalhousie of Himachal, bus narrowly escapes landslide, danger increased due to landslide

Chamba: The rain that has been falling since late night in Chamba district of Himachal has become a disaster. The danger of cloud burst and landslide has increased at many places. During the Mani Mahesh Yatra, cloud burst in Sundarashi caused a strong flow of water in the drain. This has disrupted the journey. The drain is also overflowing due to cloud burst near Talai and Palace on Dalhousie road of Chamba.

Due to cloud burst near the palace, swamp and dirty water flowing from the drain has entered people’s houses. The cloud burst incident took place near Link Road Talai, 6 km away from the tourist place Dalhousie. However, no one has been killed in this. But a large number of big trees have come down due to the flow of water. Efforts are being made to remove them.

After heavy rains in Gholti Sarol near Chamba, water came in such a high quantity that dirty water entered people’s houses through the drain. Today afternoon, an HRTC Volvo bus coming from Delhi to Chamba narrowly escaped being hit by a landslide. As soon as the bus of HRTC Chamba depot reached Patna mode near Bathri, a landslide started from the top of the hill. During this, large pine trees fell down. It was fortunate that as soon as the bus left from there, the debris came down from the hill after that. If there had been a difference of a few seconds in the time, a major accident could have happened.

The Volvo bus has definitely suffered some damage in this accident, but all the passengers sitting in the bus are safe. The havoc of heavy rains is still continuing. There is no road left connecting the district headquarters where a land slide has not occurred. A bike rider narrowly escaped being hit by a landslide near Julahakadi. Landslides are also happening continuously in NH 154 A Chamba Pathankot Keru hill. The department has deployed machines to open the road.
