New Delhi. US President Donald Trump on Monday dropped tariff bombs by sending his signed trade letter to 14 countries of the world. First of all, Trump Tariff Letter was sent to Japan and Korea, on which a tariff of 25 percent has been imposed. At the same time, new tariffs have been announced on products imported from Myanmar, Laos, South Africa, Kazakhstan and Malaysia. However, in the meantime, no tariff has been announced on India so far, rather Trump has said about the India-US Trade Deal that we are very close to making a deal with India.
Big statement about trade deal
According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump, along with announcing new tariffs on 14 countries, talked about the India-US Trade Deal and said, ‘We are close to making a deal with India. We have made a deal with Britain and China.’
According to Trump, we have also met with the countries to whom we have sent tariff letters and we do not think that we will be able to make a deal, so a letter has been sent to them. Not only this, we are sending letters to other countries, in which they are being told how much tariff they will have to pay. The President said that after our imposed tariff, some countries may make some adjustments, but it will depend on whether they have a valid reason or not.
How much tariff was imposed on 14 countries?
While addressing journalists in Air Force One last week, Japan had said that they have signed tariff letters for a dozen countries and it will be announced on Monday. Now Trump Tariff Bomb has exploded on 14 countries included in this list and the new tariff is going to be implemented from 1 August 2025. It is worth noting that the deadline for 90 days exemption on tariff was to end on 9 July but it has been extended till the first of August. The tariff imposed by Trump on all the countries is from 25 to 40 percent. If you look at its list, then…
Country New Trump Tariff
Japan 25%
South Korea 25%
Myanmar 40%
Laos 40%
South Africa 30%
Kazakhstan 25%
Malaysia 25%
Tunisia 25%

Where is the India-US trade deal stuck?
There have been long discussions between India and America regarding the trade agreement, but the agreement has not been finalized yet. If we look at the reasons behind this, then America is demanding India to open the Indian market for its goods by reducing the tariff on the import of its agriculture and dairy products and along with this, there is a demand to reduce its tariff in other sectors including auto. On the other hand, the Indian government has made it clear that it is not in favor of any agreement on agriculture and dairy sector.
