Elections: Voting Underway in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry; PM Modi Appeals to Youth to Vote in Record Numbers

New Delhi. Today, voting for the 2026 Assembly Elections is being held in three states—Assam, Puducherry, and Kerala. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to voters in all three regions to step out in large numbers and participate in this festival of democracy. He specifically called upon young people and women voters to come forward and strengthen the democratic process. Prime Minister Modi stated that every single vote plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the nation.

While appealing for a record voter turnout in the 2026 Assembly Elections, PM Modi remarked that casting a vote is a vital opportunity for citizens to exercise their democratic rights.   • Appeal for Record Participation from the People of Kerala and Puducherry
    PM Modi issued separate appeals to the people of Kerala, Puducherry, and Assam through individual posts on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). Calling for record participation in the 2026 Assembly Elections, PM Modi requested the youth and women of these states to step forward and cast their votes in large numbers.

    As voting for the Assembly Elections commenced, PM Modi wrote in an ‘X’ post: “I appeal to every voter in Puducherry to participate in this election in record numbers.” He emphasized that every vote would play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Puducherry.

    PM Modi Reminds the People of Assam of Their Democratic Duties
    Following the commencement of voting, PM Modi also appealed to the people of Assam to exercise their franchise in large numbers. Expressing his optimism, he stated: “May the youth and women voters of the state participate in this election with great enthusiasm. This election will stand as a celebration of democracy and civic duty.”
