New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu said on Tuesday that providing affordable and world-class healthcare to all should be our goal. Murmu was addressing the launch of the “Saving Lives and Building a Healthier India” campaign organized by PD Hinduja Hospital at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai.

“Keep Social Responsibility in Mind While Providing Service”
She said she is confident that India will achieve a reputation as a global healthcare hub. The President urged private hospitals and medical institutions to also keep their social responsibility in mind while providing healthcare.

Technology and AI Playing a Key Role in the Medical Sector
She said that the government, along with all other stakeholders, has a crucial role in building a healthy India. Everyone must work together to ensure quality healthcare reaches every person. The President said that technology and AI, like other fields, are playing a crucial role in the medical field as well. They are being used in every field. Their role is set to grow even more in the future.

‘Providing Affordable Healthcare is Extremely Important’
He further stated that manufacturing medicines and equipment in the country is crucial to providing affordable healthcare to the countrymen. Initiatives like Make in India and PLI are proving helpful in this direction. He further stated that we are moving forward with the goal of establishing India as a developed nation by the year 2047. Health of citizens is a fundamental requirement for achieving this goal. All citizens will remain healthy when they have timely access to quality healthcare.

Who welcomed the President at the airport?
President Murmu arrived in Mumbai this afternoon on a two-day visit to Maharashtra. She was welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar, and Mayor Ritu Tawde.
