If Trump’s Gaza plan is rejected, we will finish the job, Israel warns Hamas

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Danny Danon, warned on Tuesday that if Hamas rejects US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, Israel will “finish the job” and bring all hostages home. Danon said, “If they reject the peace plan, Israel will finish the job, whether it’s easy or difficult. We can’t wait for the hostages to return. This is not only a plan to bring the hostages back, but also a plan to end the dictatorship of terror that began on October 7, 2023.”

Danny Danon’s statement came during an event at the United Nations commemorating the second anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which sparked the Gaza War. Trump unveiled the Gaza peace plan on Monday at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. The 20-point plan includes an immediate ceasefire, the release of 20 living Israeli hostages and the return of the bodies of 24 dead hostages within 72 hours, and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners by Israel in exchange.

What’s in Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan?
The Gaza Peace Plan calls for Hamas to surrender its weapons, dismantle its tunnels and weapons production facilities in Gaza, and administer Gaza under a temporary government. US President Trump said, “I hope there will be a peace agreement between Hamas and Israel regarding Gaza, but if Hamas rejects this plan, Israel will have my full support in eliminating the Hamas threat.”

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, “If Hamas pretends to accept the Gaza peace plan but does not fulfill its conditions, Israel will complete the remaining work itself.” This peace plan includes reconstruction of Gaza, restoration of humanitarian aid, and the possibility of a Palestinian state, but Hamas is not given any role in Gaza’s governance. However, Hamas has not yet responded to the plan.

European and Middle Eastern countries welcomed
Leaders in Europe and the Middle East have welcomed this peace plan, but some in Gaza remain skeptical. Over 66,000 people have been killed in Gaza in the two years of war. If Hamas rejects this peace plan, Israel will continue its military campaign in Gaza and will receive full support from the United States. It should be noted that on October 7, 2023, Hamas fighters attacked Israel and killed over 1,200 Israeli civilians. To avenge this, Israel vowed to destroy Hamas and launched a military operation in Gaza.
