India’s clear statement – Pakistan should vacate PoK first, only then bilateral talks will take place

May 14, 2025

New Delhi. After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, India has clearly told the neighboring country Pakistan that first it will have to vacate Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), only then bilateral talks can start and all the issues can be resolved. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a press conference on Tuesday that our stand has been for a long time that the Kashmir issue should be resolved bilaterally between India and Pakistan; this stand has not changed. He clearly said that we do not accept a third party on the Kashmir issue. No third country should talk about becoming a mediator.

Jaiswal said in a clear tone, “The only issue with Islamabad on Kashmir is to return the areas illegally occupied by Pakistan to India.” Jaiswal also told that Pakistan’s tone has changed only after the destruction of the Pak airbase. He said that the ceasefire was agreed upon only after the talks between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan on May 10. He said that the request was made by Pakistan at 12.37 pm on the same day. He also clarified that since the two DGMOs could not be contacted on the hotel at that time due to technical reasons, the call between the two was again possible at 15.35 pm.

No mention of trade in ceasefire talks
He said that Pakistan’s airbases were destroyed in air strikes in the morning of the same day. Jaiswal also rejected the claim of US President Donald Trump, in which it was said that trade was mentioned for the ceasefire. He bluntly said that there was no mention of trade in the talks with the American leaders.

What did Trump claim
It is worth noting that Trump had claimed about the ceasefire announced between India and Pakistan on Saturday in a press conference at the White House yesterday, “We helped a lot. We helped with trade. We said we do a lot of trade with you, stop it (fighting). If you stop, we will trade, if you don’t stop, we will not trade. As soon as it came to ending trade, they (India and Pakistan) immediately agreed to stop the conflict. ”

Will not give water to Pakistan now
Jaiswal said that Pakistan has nurtured terrorism like an industry. He said, India destroyed the terrorist infrastructure which was responsible for the death of not only Indians but also many other innocent people around the world. The Ministry of External Affairs made it clear that India will suspend the Indus Water Treaty until Pakistan credibly and irreversibly stops supporting cross-border terrorism.

Will give more evidence to UNSC about TRF
In response to a question, he said that we will not give water to Pakistan right now. On the speculation of nuclear attack between India and Pakistan by US President Donald Trump, the Ministry of External Affairs said that our military action was completely limited to conventional weapons. He said that more evidence will be given to the UNSC about the terrorist organization TRF. Jaiswal said that Pakistan celebrates even after losing and it has been its old attitude to beat the drum even after losing. He said that Pakistan spread the lie of attacks on Indian bases.
