Mahakumbh will conclude on Mahashivratri, crowd gathered for the last bath

Prayagraj: The conclusion of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh is now near. A no-vehicle zone has been implemented in the fair area and the city from February 25 itself for crowd management in the last bathing festival of Mahakumbh on Mahashivratri on February 26. Along with this, heavy police force has been deployed in the entire city. The administration estimates that more than 3 crore devotees will come to Sangam on the last bathing festival of Mahakumbh.

According to the Mela Police, the fair area has been declared a no-vehicle zone from 4:00 am on February 25, 2025, while Prayagraj Commissionerate will be made a no-vehicle zone from 6:00 pm. Officials said that everyone has been requested to help in maintaining this arrangement. To keep the crowd management smooth, everyone has been appealed to take bath only at the ghat closest to the entry.

The Mahakumbh administration has made a plan for bathing on the basis of devotees coming from all four directions. Devotees coming from South Jhunsi will be able to bathe at Sangam Dwar Airavat Ghat. Devotees coming from North Jhunsi will bathe at Sangam Harishchandra Ghat and Sangam Old GT Ghat. Similarly, devotees coming from Parade will be able to bathe at Sangam Dwar Bhardwaj Ghat. Those coming from Sangam Dwar will bathe at Nagvasuki Ghat, Sangam Dwar Mori Ghat, Sangam Dwar Kali Ghat, Sangam Dwar Ramghat, Sangam Dwar Hanuman Ghat. Devotees coming from Arail will bathe at Sangam Dwar Arail Ghat.

There will be no restriction on vehicles carrying essential items like medicines, milk, vegetables, ambulances and vehicles of government employees (doctors, police, administration). The Mahakumbh festival will conclude with Mahashivratri on 26 February 2025. Devotees have been requested to bathe at the nearest ghat and visit the Shivalaya as soon as possible and then leave for their destination.

The guidelines also stated that all pontoon bridges will be operated according to the pressure of the crowd. Devotees have been appealed that all ghats are recognized as equal to Sangam, hence devotees should take bath at the nearest ghat and cooperate in traffic and crowd management.
