Meeting of 40 Thakur MLAs in Lucknow hotel, what is going on in UP politics?

Lucknow: A meeting of 40 MLAs was held in a five-star hotel in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, which was named ‘Kutumba’. Most of the MLAs who attended this meeting were from the Kshatriya community. This meeting of Kshatriya MLAs was not limited to just eating and drinking and talking, but a WhatsApp group named ‘Kutumba’ has also been created. Thakur MLAs from the ruling party as well as the opposition have been included in this group.

BJP Legislative Council member Jaipal Singh Vyas and Kundarki MLA Thakur Ramveer Singh from Moradabad had called a meeting of Kshatriya MLAs at Clark Avadh Hotel in Lucknow on Monday. Rebel Kshatriya MLAs of BJP and SP were invited. Apart from this, one or two MLAs were also from other castes, but three dozen were only Thakur MLAs of BJP. Both rebel Kshatriya MLAs of SP also participated in it.

Political meanings are being drawn out of the meeting of Thakur MLAs of UP and naming it Kutumb. ‘Kutumb’ means family. Kshatriya MLAs have named their WhatsApp group ‘Kutumb Parivar’, which includes Kshatriya MLAs from BJP to SP and BSP. If sources are to be believed, it is being seen as an exercise to bring Thakur MLAs of the ruling party and the opposition on one platform.

Meeting of Thakur MLAs of UP
The monsoon session of Uttar Pradesh began on Monday and on the very first day of the session, Thakur MLAs gathered at the Clark Avadh Hotel in the evening. The Thakur MLAs were invited by BJP MLC Jaipal Singh Vyas and Kundarki MLA Thakur Ramveer Singh. The standee poster of this program at Hotel Clark Avadh had a proper picture of Jaipal Vyas and Ramveer Singh, in which it was written, ‘You honorable members are welcome and congratulated in the Kutumb family.’

In this meeting named ‘Kutumb Parivar’, about 40 MLAs of UP had participated, in which all the MLAs were from Kshatriya community except one or two. Some MLAs called it a birthday party, while some said that it was a feast organized to celebrate the victory of Thakur Ramveer. It was described as a party with family invitation.

Ram’s statue and trident given as gift
All Thakur MLAs who attended the meeting of Kutumb Parivar were honored. During this, all the MLAs were given a statue of Lord Shri Ram, a picture of Maharana Pratap and a big brass trident as a gift. However, what was discussed in the meeting could not be revealed, but this was the first meeting of Thakur MLAs in eight years.

SP’s rebel MLAs wrote the script
The meeting of Kshatriya MLAs may have been called by BJP MLC Jaipal Singh Vyas and Kundarki MLA Thakur Ramveer Singh, but it is being said that SP’s rebel MLA from Gauriganj Rakesh Pratap Singh and Gosaiganj’s Abhay Singh played an important role behind the scenes. Instead of coming forward themselves, both the SP MLAs put forward the BJP MLC and MLA from Moradabad in western UP, with whose help Thakur MLAs were invited to the feast.

The meaning of the meeting of Thakur MLAs
For a long time in UP, the MLAs of Kshatriya community were trying to show their political strength and in political circles it is also being called a show of strength. Apart from this, the way a WhatsApp group of Thakur MLAs has been created with the name ‘Kutumba Parivar’, it is clear that there is an effort to create mutual unity among the MLAs coming from Thakur caste. That is why Thakur MLAs from the ruling party as well as the opposition were invited and they have also been included in the group.

More than 40 MLAs and MLCs including MLC Rakesh Pratap Singh expelled from SP, MLA Abhay Singh, BSP MLA Uma Shankar Singh, BJP MLA Abhijeet Sanga, MLC Shailendra Pratap Singh attended the meeting of ‘Kutumb Parivar’. Although, many other MLAs, former MLAs and former MLCs of the opposition were also called, but most of such leaders of the opposition kept distance from it.

The meeting of such a large number of MLAs and Legislative Council members from the same community outside the assembly is also being linked to the future politics in UP. The unity of Kutumb Parivar is being seen at a time when there is discussion from the appointment of the state president of BJP to the expansion of the Yogi cabinet. In such a situation, political meanings are being drawn about the meeting of Thakur MLAs.

However, Thakur Ramveer Singh, who organized the party named ‘Kutumb Parivar’, is saying that it was just a family event, in which MLAs of Thakur community as well as MLAs of other communities were also present. This should be seen as a family function, there is no show of power in it. But in politics, meanings are drawn from everything and meanings are being drawn from this too.
