Srinagar. Under Operation Shield, now on May 31, mock drill will be conducted in the border states of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Union Territory Chandigarh. Earlier this civil security exercise was to be held on May 29, but it was postponed due to administrative reasons.
This mock drill is being conducted after the fierce clashes between India and Pakistan that lasted for three nights recently in these states. After Operation Sindoor, civilian areas and religious places of India were targeted by Pakistan.
Mock drill will be held in border states on May 31
Let us tell you, before this, on May 7, a few hours before Operation Sindoor, mock drill was also conducted across the country. On the same night, the Indian Army carried out a major operation targeting nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The purpose of the mock drill under Operation Shield is to check the preparedness to deal with emergencies in the border states. It will include NDRF, Civil Defense, local police, health department and other emergency agencies.
Many agencies will be involved in the mock drill
Administrative officials say that this time the mock drill will be implemented in a more systematic and practical manner so that the safety of the people can be ensured in any emergency. Let us tell you, the second civil defense exercise under Operation Shield will be held in five states on May 31. This exercise is being done to overcome the shortcomings observed during the first civil defense exercise held on May 7 in various sensitive areas of the country, especially on the western border. The purpose of this second exercise is to further strengthen the preparations of civil security in the event of an enemy attack.
