Mohan’s Cabinet Makes Several Major Decisions, Significant Investment in the Energy Sector

Bhopal: The Mohan Cabinet has taken several major decisions. Tuesday’s meeting reflected the government’s focus on women’s health, e-governance, and industrial development. To promote tourism, the government has decided to launch helicopter services in three sectors in Madhya Pradesh on a public-private partnership (PPP) mode, with the Mohan government providing this service in more than 36 cities. A decision has also been made to establish two new thermal power plants in Madhya Pradesh. Two 1,320-megawatt thermal power plants will be located in Anuppur and Betul districts, a significant development for Madhya Pradesh. The government has also launched the Suman Sakhi chat box.

The Mohan government in Madhya Pradesh has again decided to make a major investment in the energy sector. Under this initiative, the state government has provided financial assistance for a new 660 MW thermal plant in Sarni within the Satpura Thermal Power Project. A second thermal plant is also being developed at a cost of ₹11,476 crore, located in Chachai. This 660 MW unit will be installed with a 15% loan. Efforts have been made in the past, but the government has now increased the cost. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that the initial cost of this plant was ₹435 crore, while the current cost has reached ₹11,678 crore. It is scheduled to be commissioned by 2030, with this deadline set.


The Mohan cabinet has also made a major decision in the tourism sector. The government will provide helicopter services to tourists in three sectors. These helicopters will be operated on a public-private partnership (PPP) mode. The tourism areas included in the first sector include Omkareshwar, Ujjain, Mandu, Indore, Hanuwantiya, Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Barwani, Alirajpur, Maheshwar, Gandhi Sagar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Jhabua, Nalkheda, Bhopal, and Jabalpur. The second sector includes Pachmarhi, Madhai, Tamia, Guna, Rajgarh, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Datia, Damoh, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, Sanchi, and Orchha. The third sector includes Parsuli, Satna, Maihar, Katni, Sidhi, Pench, Dindori, Jabalpur, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Chitrakoot, and Sarasi.

The Mohan Cabinet also took these decisions:
The Suman Sakhi chat box was launched, allowing access to health information to promote health awareness. ₹420 crore is being transferred for the Maternity Scheme in Dhar district. 13 medical hospitals will recruit 354 senior resident doctors. Similar to the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” initiative, a “One Garden in the Name of Mother” scheme will be implemented in gram panchayats. The benefits of GST reform will be explained to the new generation.
