
Moradabad: In a joint operation last evening in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, the police and STF killed two notorious criminals in an encounter. The deceased criminals have been identified as Asif alias Tiddha and Deenu alias Ilyas. Both had dozens of cases registered against them for serious crimes such as murder, robbery, dacoity, and extortion.
The encounter took place near Got railway station in Bhojpur police station area, where the police team surrounded the two. During the retaliatory firing, both criminals were shot and taken to the hospital, but doctors declared them dead.
During the encounter, a bullet lodged in the bulletproof jacket of SSP Satpal Antil and the ASP of Meerut STF, saving both officers from serious injury. Police recovered a car, a .30 bore carbine, three .32 bore pistols, and a large quantity of live cartridges from the spot.
Asif alias Tiddha: A history-sheeter with 65 cases and a reward of 1 lakh rupees
Asif alias Tiddha, a resident of Rashid Nagar, Meerut, was originally from village Kalchhina, Bhojpur police station. After studying up to the eighth grade, he took to crime at a young age and formed his own gang. More than 65 cases were registered against him in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Haryana. In 2013, the Brahmapuri police station declared him a history-sheeter 74-A.

Dinu had a reward of ₹50,000 on his head and was wanted in 25 cases. Dinu alias Ilyas was a resident of Khiwai village in the Sarurpur police station area of Meerut. He was a history-sheeter with number 298A/2009. Dinu was also being investigated in connection with the sensational 2020 kidnapping, murder, and robbery case in Ratanpuri.
