Khandwa. A debt-ridden BJP leader and former councilor in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly committed suicide by consuming sulphas tablets. On Tuesday, BJP leader Jitendra Chaudhary, alias Jitu, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital. In a video recorded before his death, he accused Congress leader Ganesh Sakargaye of mental harassment over debt recovery. It is believed that the video’s release could lead to a political scandal. Police have filed a case and launched an investigation.

In his alleged final video message, BJP leader Jitu Chaudhary stated that he had been facing financial pressure and social humiliation for a long time. According to him, he had a transaction of approximately 50 lakh rupees with Ganesh Sakargaye, and he had been paying interest for the past five years. Despite this, he was being pressured. He also alleged that his daughter’s relationship had broken off due to this dispute. Chaudhary claimed in the video that he had a total debt of approximately 1 crore rupees, but other creditors had not harassed him in this manner.

Got to Ganesh Sakargaye’s house and consumed sulphas tablets
According to sources, Jitendra Chaudhary, a resident of Luv Kush Nagar Sector-3 in Anand Nagar, left home around 10 am on Tuesday and went straight to Ganesh Sakargaye’s house. There, he consumed sulphas tablets. When his health deteriorated, he asked Sakargaye to take him to the hospital. He was first taken to a private hospital in Anand Nagar, where he received first aid and was referred to the district hospital. He died after approximately four hours of treatment. It is reported that Sakargaye left after being admitted to the district hospital.

Acquaintances say that Jitendra Chaudhary had been struggling with heavy debt and family tensions for a long time.
