
Chhatarpur. President Draupadi Murmu will reach Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh (MP) on the occasion of Mahashivratri on 26 February and will attend the mass marriage ceremony. This event is being organized under the leadership of Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, head of Bageshwar Dham.
Shri Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti has organized a mass marriage ceremony in Garha village, about 23 km from the headquarters of Chhatarpur district, where President Murmu will be present. During this, she will attend the mass marriage ceremony of 251 helpless girls and will give her blessings to the newlyweds.
Chhatarpur District Collector Parth Jaiswal said that President Murmu will reach Gadha between 10 and 11 am and will leave at around 2 pm on Wednesday. Jaiswal said, “All preparations have been made in view of the President’s visit.”
The Chhatarpur district administration said that 1500 to 2000 jawans will be deployed for security, and water, toilets and other arrangements are being ensured for the convenience of the devotees. The venue has been divided into 30-35 sectors and large TV screens will also be installed for the people.
Earlier on February 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also laid the foundation stone of a health facility costing more than Rs 200 crore, including a cancer hospital to be built at Bageshwar Dham.
These visits of the President and the Prime Minister have further increased the importance of Bageshwar Dham. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav recently took stock of the preparations and directed that the program should be dignified and well organized.
Local people say that this visit of President Draupadi Murmu is not only important from religious and social point of view, but it also underlines the efforts for development and social upliftment of the Bundelkhand region. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the devotees and local people due to her arrival.
