New revelation in Delhi blast: Did Umar detonate the blast with a shoe bomb? TATP is a highly dangerous explosive.

November 18, 2025

New Delhi. A significant development has emerged during the investigation into the November 10 bomb blasts near the Red Fort. Sources within the investigating agencies say that Dr. Umar, a suicide bomber affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), may have carried out the blast using a shoe bomb. The explosion has so far claimed 15 lives and seriously injured over 20 others.

Traces of ammonium nitrate and TATP found in a shoe
According to sources, among the evidence and other items collected from the blast site, investigators have zeroed in on a shoe. Traces of ammonium nitrate and TATP were found in a shoe found in Umar’s i20 car. The investigation team found the shoe under the driver’s seat near the car’s right front tire. Investigating agencies are using this as an initial clue and are taking further action.

A mechanism was hidden in the shoe.
It is suspected that Dr. Umar had hidden a mechanism in his shoe to trigger the explosion. He used this to spark the bomb, and the bomb went off. The investigating team says that ammonium nitrate and TAP, along with other chemicals, made the blast more lethal.

Mother of the Devil
TATP is considered a highly dangerous and sensitive explosive. It is often used by terrorists. It can explode with a slight shock, friction, or even a little heat. This is why it is known as the “Mother of the Devil” in the terrorist world.

Mobile phones and 17 SIM cards purchased from Nepal and Uttar Pradesh…
The mobile phones and SIM cards used to carry out the blast were purchased from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and neighboring Nepal. Sources indicate that six old mobile phones were purchased from Nepal to carry out the blast. Seventeen SIM cards were arranged for them. Six of these were found registered in the name of a person from Beconganj, Kanpur.

Dr. Umar was in contact with these individuals an hour before the blast.
Investigation revealed that Dr. Umar was in contact with Dr. Parvez, Dr. Mohammad Arif, and Dr. Farooq Ahmed Dar an hour before the blast. Dr. Parvez is the brother of Dr. Shaheen Saeed. Shaheen was arrested from Al-Falah University in Faridabad. Dr. Parvez was posted as an assistant professor at Integral University in Lucknow.

Dr. Umar was using two mobile phones and five SIM cards.
Agencies investigating the bomb blast near the Red Fort are trying to trace the activities of the ‘suicide bomber’, Dr. Umar, before the blast. The investigation revealed that the suicide bomber Umar was using five SIM cards before the blast. Sources say that Dr. Umar used two phones between October 30 and November 10. Both mobile phones are currently missing. Umar used two SIM cards on the day of the bombing. The investigation team is trying to locate him.

Investigative agencies are trying to find out where Dr. Umar was for nine days…
In the investigation so far, all the CCTV footage obtained by the police and investigating agencies is from October 30th or November 9th and 10th. Meanwhile, answers are being sought to find out where Umar was during those nine days, who he was with, and what he was doing. According to sources, Dr. Umar was seen in footage from approximately 50 CCTV cameras from Faridabad to Delhi on October 29th and 30th, and November 9th and 10th. These footage are from cameras installed at universities, toll plazas, Delhi roads, and other locations. In only a few footages, he is seen hiding his face with a mask.
