North Korea’s new destroyer warship damaged during launch, Kim Jong Un furious

Seoul. North Korean Navy suffered a major setback when the country’s new 5000 tonne destroyer warship was badly damaged during launch. This incident took place on Wednesday at Chongjin Port, where leader Kim Jong Un himself was present. It is being told that this warship was prepared with Russian help. Angry over the accident, dictator Kim Jong Un has called an emergency meeting to take action against scientists and army officials.

According to the North Korean government agency KCNA, the balance of the warship was disturbed while lowering it from the ramp. The flatcap did not move in time, due to which the ship tilted and its lower part got pressed and broke.

Kim Jong Un’s anger erupted
Kim described this accident as a “serious accident and criminal negligence”. He accused scientists, army officers and shipyard workers of “absolutely irresponsible and unscientific attitude”. He also ordered an emergency meeting of the Workers Party to discuss this mistake.

Big loss to North Korea
This ship was part of North Korea’s first modern destroyer class, which was unveiled on April 25. It was planned to be equipped with nuclear cruise and ballistic missiles. Kim also monitored its missile tests and it was to be included in the navy from next year.

Ship built with Russian help
Experts believe that this destroyer was probably built with technical help from Russia. Although North Korea’s navy is considered weaker than South Korea, this new ship can greatly increase its military strength and offensive capabilities.

This incident has happened at a time when North Korea is rapidly advancing its nuclear and missile program. Kim has also talked about including nuclear-capable submarines in the navy, calling the military exercises of America and its Asian allies a threat to its security.
