“On November 21st…” After the joy of victory in Bihar, Owaisi makes a major announcement for Seemanchal.

Desk: The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections once again made it clear that Seemanchal has become an impregnable fortress for AIMIM. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party fielded candidates in only 25 of the state’s 243 seats, yet won five, sending a strong message of its influence. Asaduddin Owaisi appears overjoyed with this victory. He posted on Instagram, “My brothers and sisters of Seemanchal, Inshallah, I will be in Seemanchal on November 21st and 22nd to thank you.”

The AIMIM party’s victories aren’t mere coincidence or the result of a single issue. They’re the result of sustained trust, a deep understanding of local issues, and a community-based political strategy. All five seats AIMIM won fall in areas of Seemanchal where the Muslim population is 60% or more. Many of the candidates fielded by AIMIM in these seats already possessed local popularity and a strong foothold.

The electoral climate in Seemanchal is always unique because its social dynamics are quite different from the rest of Bihar. The large Muslim population, socio-economic backwardness, floods, and infrastructure problems make the issues here unique. AIMIM raised these issues more vociferously than other parties, which worked in its favor.

The political and social character of Seemanchal is considered extremely favorable for AIMIM’s strategy. In many assembly constituencies here, the Muslim population ranges from 60 to 70 percent, which is much higher than in other regions of the state. This demographic characteristic is central to AIMIM’s politics, as the party extensively addresses the interests and insecurities of the Muslim community.
