New Delhi. A major accident was averted in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday. A Pawan Hans helicopter suffered a technical fault shortly after takeoff, forcing the pilot to land it in the sea. Fortunately, all on board are safe and no injuries have been reported.

The helicopter was flying from Port Blair to Mayabunder. There were seven people on board. According to a Pawan Hans spokesperson, the incident occurred around 9:30 am. The helicopter took off from Port Blair with two crew members and five passengers.

Helicopter Landed in Sea Due to Technical Fault
The helicopter experienced a technical fault during flight. Considering the situation, the pilot decided to land the helicopter in the sea, keeping the safety of all on board in mind. Officials said that during landing at Mayabunder, the helicopter landed in the sea about 300 meters short of the runway. According to preliminary information, an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the technical fault.

SpiceJet Flight to Leh Returns to Delhi After Engine Trouble
Earlier, a SpiceJet flight to Leh returned to the national capital on Tuesday morning due to engine trouble. A source said that the Boeing 737 aircraft operating flight number SG121 was carrying approximately 150 passengers. When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said that a flight from Delhi to Leh on Tuesday returned to the capital due to a technical problem.

“The aircraft landed safely in Delhi and all passengers were disembarked normally,” the spokesperson said in a statement. The source said the plane had experienced engine trouble. According to the spokesperson, there was no fire warning in the cockpit.
