PM Modi gave a strong message from Brazil, said – there is no place for double standards on terrorism…

New Delhi: In an important meeting held on Tuesday between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, India and Brazil set a target to almost double the mutual trade to $20 billion in the next five years. Both the countries also signed six agreements to increase cooperation in areas like energy, agriculture, digital technology and fight against terrorism.

Prime Minister Modi said after the meeting that our thinking against terrorism is the same. Zero tolerance and zero double standards. We are clear that there is no place for double standards on terrorism. He also said that both India and Brazil strongly oppose terrorism and those who support it.

Agreement on increasing trade
Modi said that at present India-Brazil’s mutual trade is about $ 13 billion, which has been targeted to be taken to $ 20 billion in the next five years. PM Modi said that in today’s talks we discussed strengthening cooperation in every field. The priorities of both the countries are clean energy and environment. The agreement reached today will give new direction and momentum to our green goals.

Increasing trust in the defense sector
Cooperation between India and Brazil is increasing in the defense sector, which General Modi described as a symbol of mutual trust. He said that both the countries will move forward in the direction of connecting defense production industries. India is helping Brazil to adopt UPI (Unified Payments Interface). Our cooperation is increasing in areas like digital public infrastructure, space technology, artificial intelligence and supercomputers.

New partnership in agriculture, Ayurveda and health
Both the countries have also agreed to increase cooperation in agricultural research, food processing and Ayurveda. PM Modi said that now we will also work together in the field of agricultural research and traditional medicine. Both India and Brazil are big democratic countries and their cooperation is important not only for the Global South (developing countries) but for the entire humanity. Today, when the world is going through a period of uncertainty and tension, our partnership is a symbol of stability and balance.
