February 13, 2026

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday assumed charge of his new office, the “Seva Tirtha” complex, from the colonial-era landmark South Block. This day was also special, as New Delhi was formally inaugurated as the capital of modern India on February 13, 1931.

The Prime Minister visited the Seva Tirtha complex and inaugurated the new office. This complex houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Cabinet Secretariat, and the National Security Council Secretariat.

  • A New Beginning with the Message of “Nagarik Devo Bhava”
The Prime Minister garlanded the statue of Lord Ganesha installed in the complex. The name of Seva Tirtha is inscribed in Devanagari on the wall, and the mantra “Nagarik Devo Bhava” is written below, reflecting the spirit of citizen-centric governance. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Minister of State Jitendra Singh, and senior officials were present on the occasion.

    Approval of PM Relief Scheme
Upon taking charge of his new office, the Prime Minister signed several important decisions. These include the launch of the PM Relief Scheme. Under this scheme, cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh will be provided to those injured in road accidents, ensuring that no one loses their life due to lack of timely treatment.

Doubling the Target of ‘Lakhpati Didi’
The government has already achieved the target of 30 million ‘Lakhpati Didi’, a year ahead of the deadline. Now, the Prime Minister has set a new target of increasing this number to 60 million by March 2029. This move is considered a major step towards women’s economic empowerment.

    Major Announcement for Farmers
To strengthen the agriculture sector, the ‘Agriculture Infrastructure Fund’ has been increased to ₹2 lakh crore. This will help strengthen the agricultural value chain and provide better storage and processing facilities to farmers.

    Startup India Fund 2.0 approved
