PM Modi’s three-day visit includes worship at the Somnath Temple, a trade show in Rajkot, and a meeting with the German Chancellor in Ahmedabad.

Gandhinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-day visit to Gujarat from January 10th to 12th. During this visit, he will participate in several important events in Somnath, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar. The visit will include worship and religious ceremonies at the Somnath Temple, as well as the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit, the inauguration of the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro, and high-level bilateral talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The Prime Minister will arrive in Somnath on the evening of January 10th. In the evening, he will chair a meeting of the Somnath Temple Trust. Following this, at around 8 pm, the Prime Minister will participate in the chanting of the Omkar Mantra. He will also witness a drone show organized in the Somnath Temple complex.

On January 11th, the Prime Minister will participate in the Shaurya Yatra at around 9:45 am. This procession is undertaken to pay tribute to the countless warriors who sacrificed their lives protecting the Somnath Temple. Following this, at around 10:15 am, the Prime Minister will visit and offer prayers at the Somnath Temple.

At around 11 am, the Prime Minister will participate in a public event organized on the occasion of Somnath Swabhiman Parv. After this, the Prime Minister will proceed to Rajkot to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions.

At around 1:30 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the trade show and exhibition at the conference. At around 2 pm, the Prime Minister will formally inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions at Marwari University in Rajkot and address the public gathering.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference is being held from January 11 to 12, 2026. This conference has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the 12 districts of the Kutch and Saurashtra regions. The objective of the conference is to provide a new impetus to investment and industrial development in Western Gujarat.

The focus areas of this conference will be ceramics, engineering, ports and logistics, fisheries, petrochemicals, agriculture and food processing, minerals, green energy ecosystem, skill development, start-ups, MSMEs, tourism, and culture. Japan, South Korea, Rwanda, and Ukraine will be partner countries for this conference.

From Rajkot, the Prime Minister will travel to Ahmedabad. At around 5:15 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the remaining section of the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro from Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir at the Mahatma Mandir Metro Station. At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will be on an official visit to India on January 12 and 13, 2026. This will be German Chancellor Merz’s first official visit to India.

On January 12, the Prime Minister will meet with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Ahmedabad. At around 9:30 am, the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor will visit the Sabarmati Ashram. Following this, at around 10 am, both leaders will participate in the International Kite Festival on the Sabarmati Riverfront.

Following this, bilateral talks will be held between the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, starting at 11:15 am. These meetings will review the progress made in the India-Germany strategic partnership, which recently celebrated 25 years.

The bilateral talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in trade and investment, technology, education, skills development, and mobility. Discussions will also include defense and security, science, innovation, and research, green and sustainable development, and furthering people-to-people ties.
