
New Delhi: A few days after the death of 18 people during the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, the post-mortem report has revealed that 15 of them died due to traumatic asphyxia, while two died due to hemorrhagic shock due to a sharp injury on the chest. At the same time, one died due to a deep injury on the head. The post-mortem of 5 of the dead was done at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, 10 at Maulana Azad Medical College and 3 at Lady Harding Medical College. The post-mortem was done between 2.30 am and 7 am last Sunday.
The Railway Ministry has constituted a two-member high-level investigation committee to investigate the incident and the committee has asked the Delhi Police to provide all the postmortem reports in official communication. The police will submit the postmortem report to the high-level investigation committee on Saturday. The police will register a case in this incident only after the report of the high-level committee comes.
Let us tell you that after the incident, a two-member high-level committee is investigating the matter. During the investigation, the committee team visited the spot and the team has taken possession of the footage of 203 CCTV cameras. Along with this, information has been obtained about the personnel of various departments deployed at the station during the incident. At the same time, sources say that along with the high-level committee, the Government Railway Police (GRP) also started investigating the matter at its level after the incident.
According to sources, after receiving the investigation report of the high-level committee, the police will match the evidence found in its investigation. Only after that the police will register a case. Railway Deputy Commissioner of Police KPS Malhotra said that the police is waiting for the report of the high-level committee of the railway in the incident that took place at New Delhi Railway Station. Meanwhile, the Railway Police has also completed its investigation. Further action will be taken after the railway report comes.

At the same time, in the postmortem report of one victim, doctors said that the cause of death was brain injury and damage to the lungs due to the blow of a heavy object on the head and chest.
According to media reports, when the families of the deceased came to the hospital to collect the bodies last Sunday morning, they were handed over bundles of cash. This happened after the government announced that it would give an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased. The officials asked the relatives to take the bodies immediately and also deployed security personnel to ensure that they reach home safely with the cash. The cash given to the relatives included bundles of Rs 100 and Rs 500 notes.
An RPF inspector of New Delhi Railway Station had said in a letter to his senior officials that on February 15, at around 8.45 pm, it was announced that the Kumbh Special train going to Prayagraj would leave from platform number 12, but after some time another announcement was made that the Kumbh Special would leave from platform number 16. Due to which a stampede situation arose among the passengers.
