Washington. Two leading psychologists – Dr. Harry Segal and Dr. John Gartner – have expressed serious concern about the mental and physical condition of American President Donald Trump. Experts claim that 79-year-old Trump is showing clear symptoms of dementia, which are getting “worse” over time. This claim was made in his recent program ‘Shrinking Trump’, in which unusual changes in Trump’s behavior and physical activities were discussed.

Psychologists claim: Symptoms of frontotemporal dementia in Trump
Dr. Gartner said that there is a clear decline in Trump’s psycho-motor functioning, which is a major sign of dementia. He said Trump may possibly be suffering from frontotemporal dementia (FTD), an unusual type of dementia that affects the front and side parts of the brain, causing problems related to behavior and language. The disease gradually becomes more severe over the years.

Dr. Gartner said, “Last year a neuropsychologist told us that a major symptom of frontotemporal dementia is ‘wide-based gait’, in which one of the person’s legs moves abnormally in a semi-circular motion.” He cited a video of the recent meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, in which Trump was seen staggering abnormally while walking on the red carpet.

Dr. Gartner, while analyzing the video, said, “Trump was staggering around on the red carpet. The movement of his right leg was pushing him to the left, and then he was moving to the other side to correct it.” He joked, “If you were stopped for a drunk driving test and you walked like this, you would definitely fail.” Dr. Segal also agreed to this and said, “This is very unusual. Trump does not look drunk, yet he appears to be losing control of one of his legs.”

Trump’s health and his reaction
Despite these concerns, Trump has repeatedly praised his cognitive abilities. After his annual medical checkup in April, Trump claimed that he scored the “highest marks” in the cognitive test. However, Dr. Segal and Dr. Gartner had already rejected this claim, saying that this test is normally easy and passing it is not a big achievement.

Growing concern about Trump’s health
Psychologists also reported that Trump is trying to hide concerns about his health. In recent days, he has been seen hiding the back of his hand, which experts consider a sign of deterioration in his health. Dr. Gartner said, “Along with Trump’s public appearance, language and verbal disability, the decline in his motor ability is now becoming evident.”
