Rich kids’ ‘reel’ uproar on the Ganga Expressway: Dangerous stunts performed with a Thar and Scorpio, then broke through the toll barrier and fled.

Meerut: Hooligans in Thar and Scorpio cars performed dangerous stunts to create a social media reel on the Ganga Expressway in Meerut’s Kharkhoda area. Around 10 vehicles created a ruckus in the middle of the road, a video of which is going viral on social media. These youths took a U-turn ahead of the Kharkhari toll plaza, parked their vehicles haphazardly in the middle of the road, and while blaring their horns, crushed the flowerbed on the divider. After this drama, which lasted for half an hour on the state-of-the-art expressway, when toll officials demanded payment, the accused broke the barrier. The youths, eager to upload the video online, defied security and carried out the entire incident.

This craze for making reels on the Ganga Expressway has become a major problem for common passersby. A convoy of about 10 vehicles entered the expressway, and a deadly game of speeding ensued. The vehicles were swerved, disrupting traffic. The situation reached its peak when they brutally crushed a government flowerbed on the divider and crossed to the other side of the road. The vehicles’ horns blared continuously.

Indecent Behavior with Toll Workers and Dismantling of Barriers
After this high-voltage drama that lasted for half an hour, when the vehicles returned to the Kharkhari Toll Plaza, the employees there demanded the toll tax as per the rules. This enraged the young men in the car and they behaved rudely with the toll workers. The incident did not end there. Instead of paying the toll, the drivers, in a display of arrogance, broke through the security barrier and forcibly fled the scene.

Questions on Security Claims and Police Investigation
This entire incident has raised serious questions about the security system on the expressway, which is said to be equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Despite claims of cameras being installed every kilometer, this violence continued unabated. However, after videos of the incident went viral on social media, a police complaint was filed. Police are now working to identify the rioters based on the viral video footage.
