Patna: Following the internal conflict within the Bihar Grand Alliance, the joint election campaign is now in jeopardy. After a “friendly fight” on several seats, the distance between the RJD and Congress appears to be growing. Consequently, discussions on a joint manifesto are also stalling.
The Grand Alliance’s manifesto draft committee has yet to reach a conclusion. Both the RJD and Congress have their own election promises.
According to sources, senior Congress leaders may be deployed to resolve the impasse with the RJD. In this regard, Ashok Gehlot will visit Patna today and a meeting with Tejashwi Yadav is possible. Following the souring of relations with the RJD, the Congress has removed Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru.
The RJD and Congress’s election promises and declarations are similar in many ways, but a consensus on a common format remains to be reached. The Grand Alliance’s manifesto draft committee has been unable to reach a concrete conclusion. This internal conflict has raised questions about the launch of a joint election campaign.
Samrat Chaudhary taunted…
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, taking a dig at this crisis, said that Lalu Prasad Yadav is the only leader and other parties are insignificant. He said, “Someone was roaming around during the SIR era. That SIR leader is no longer visible in Bihar or the country. The poor fellow is in his honeymoon period.”
