
New Delhi: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s bats roared in Sydney. Following Adelaide, the Hitman’s bat also performed well in the third ODI. Rohit batted brilliantly, scoring an unbeaten 121 off 125 balls. Virat, after two ducks, also appeared in excellent form, scoring a powerful 74 off 81 balls. Kohli and Rohit forged an unbroken 168-run partnership for the second wicket, leading the team to victory. After the match, Rohit and Kohli made a major announcement about their retirements.
In a conversation with Adam Gilchrist after the match, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli stated that they are not retiring from the ODI format just yet. Rohit said, “I don’t know if I’ll come back to play in Australia, but I enjoy playing here.”
Kohli and Rohit also thanked the Australian public for their love and support. Both of Team India’s legendary batsmen put an end to speculation about their ODI retirement. The Hitman was the only batsman in the series to score more than 200 runs in three matches. Rohit scored 202 runs. The former captain was also named Man of the Series for his impressive performance.
Chasing the target of 237 runs with Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma appeared in excellent form from the very first ball. He played his shots freely. The Hitman and Shubman Gill added 69 runs for the first wicket. After Gill’s dismissal, Rohit received excellent support from Virat Kohli.
King Kohli and Rohit put together a 168-run partnership for the second wicket, leading the team to victory. During this partnership, Rohit and Rohit broke a barrage of records.
