Officials said that the encounter between security forces and Maoists is still going on in Gangalur police station area of ​​​​Bijapur.

According to officials, on Friday, after receiving information about the presence of armed Maoists of West Bastar Division of Maoists in Gangalur, a team of District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) and Cobra Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was sent for anti-Maoist operation.

According to officials, the Maoists started firing on the joint team of security forces at 8.30 am on Saturday, after which the security forces also retaliated. He said that eight Maoists were killed in an encounter between security forces and Maoists. According to officials, more information regarding the encounter is awaited. He said that search operation is going on in the area.
