According to the BBC Bangla report, Mohammad Yunus says that in view of the current situation of the country, it is becoming difficult for him to work together with political parties.

He expressed displeasure over the situation of the country in the Advisory Council meeting in Dhaka on Thursday. Student leader and head of the National Citizen Party Nahid Islam said that we have been hearing the news of Sir Yunus’ resignation since morning. That’s why I went to discuss this matter with him. He said that he is thinking about it. He is feeling like a hostage. He says that he feels that he cannot work in the current situation.

Islam said that Mohammad Yunus says that he is not ready to work in the current situation of the country. He said that until the political parties do not reach a consensus, he will not be able to work. Islam said that if Yunus does not get support, then there is no logic in his staying in the post. If the political party wants him to resign now, then why will he stay when he will not get any kind of assurance.

Along with Nahid Islam, Mahfuz Alam also met him at his official residence Jamuna. A day before this, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman had given an ultimatum to Mohammad Yunus to hold elections by December, giving a stern warning.

It is being said that the army and the government are face to face over the plan to build a humanitarian corridor on the Myanmar border in Bangladesh. The report said that the government led by Mohammad Yunus had secretly made a deal with the US to build a humanitarian corridor on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, but the Bangladesh Army Chief had expressed displeasure over this.
