
Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Crime Branch has busted a Syrian gang. This gang was collecting money from mosques by posing as Gaza victims. In this case, the police have arrested a Syrian citizen named Ali Meghat Alzahar. He had come to India on a tourist visa.
During interrogation, it was found that he was using the money to live a luxurious life. After police action, his three accomplices are absconding. They are being searched. Police claim that all three will be arrested soon.

The Crime Branch has said that these activities are a serious threat to the internal security of the country. They are violating visa rules and are involved in suspicious activities. However, investigation is going on to find out for what purpose the collected money was being used.
The case is being investigated by state and central agencies. At present, action is being taken to blacklist and deport Ali after taking him into custody. Police is also investigating other such gangs.
Ali Medhat is a resident of Damascus Medhat Al-Zahr
Police said that Ali Medhat Al-Zahr, who was caught by the Crime Branch, is a resident of Damascus and is calling himself Siya Muslim. He was staying in a hotel in Ahmedabad, from where he was caught. Crime Branch investigation revealed that the accused has marks of wounds on his body, which he is claiming to be injuries sustained in war.
Zakriya Aljar, Ahmada Alhabsh, Yousef Alzahar, who were part of the accused’s gang, are still absconding. Police is searching for them. These people gathered in Lebanon and then came to India from there.
