Hyderabad. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP-led central government and accused it of lacking courage, strategy and transparency in dealing with the recent conflict with Pakistan. Addressing a public meeting ahead of the Jai Hind Yatra in Hyderabad, CM Revanth said that the BJP is using the war as a political gimmick, while the nation is mourning its martyred soldiers and killed civilians. Reddy questioned the Modi government’s silence on the results of the war. He said, ‘What happened after the four-day war? Who surrendered? We don’t know.’ He alleged that the end of the war was announced not by India but by US President Donald Trump.

He targeted the Prime Minister for not calling an all-party meeting to discuss the ceasefire decision and reminded that an all-party meeting was called before the war started. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, ‘You called us when you needed us. We stood with the army. But you did not include us while ending the war.’ He also questioned the BJP’s rhetoric on national security. CM Reddy asked, ‘How many Rafale jets did Pakistan destroy? Why is no one talking about this?’ He criticized the government for failing to get back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir despite repeated demands from citizens and political parties.

War is not just about giving speeches
Comparing the Modi government with the leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Reddy said, ‘War is not just about giving speeches. It is about courage, resolve and strategy.’ Telangana Chief Minister Reddy cited the 1971 war and the creation of Bangladesh as examples of decisive leadership. He said, ‘Even when America supported Pakistan, Indira Gandhi stood by her decision and India won the 1971 war. In that war, we not only won but also divided Pakistan and created Bangladesh and gave them a strong reply. But today China has occupied 4,000 square kilometers of our land, killed our soldier Colonel Suresh Babu of Suryapet and our Prime Minister is silent.’

If Rahul was PM, he would have brought back PoK
Revanth Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi would have handled this situation differently. He said, ‘If Rahul Gandhi was the Prime Minister, he would have brought back PoK. Modi is like the banned Rs 1,000 note. We need leaders like Rahul Gandhi. Modi can never win a war for us. Only Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister can do this.’ He said that Congress had given full support to the government during the conflict with Pakistan in the interest of national security. He also targeted the BJP’s Tiranga rallies and asked if these rallies are really being organised in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam attack and the soldiers who died in the war.

People still remember Indira Gandhi: Reddy
He said, “This is not a personal matter of your party. It is about the country and its people.” Revanth Reddy said that the ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ shows solidarity with the armed forces, whose morale has fallen due to the actions of the Modi government. Revanth Reddy asked PM Modi, “Why are you criticising the Congress? For the victory of 1967, 1971? Or for supporting you now? That is why people in every corner of India still remember Indira Gandhi. In 1967, when China came for war, she taught China a lesson by bringing it to its knees. Now I want to ask the BJP what are you doing? In the war that you declared, Pakistan killed 33 people of our country. What are you doing?”
