
Desk: Terrorist Jagtar Singh Tara has received a major relief from the Jalandhar court. A case was registered against Jagtar Singh Tara at Bhogpur police station in 2009 under the Arms Act for illegal activities. On Monday (October 28, 2025), Jagtar Singh Tara appeared before the court via video conference in this case.
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajiv Kumar Beri ordered Jagtar Singh’s acquittal due to insufficient evidence. Advocate SKS Hundal represented Jagtar Singh. After the court hearing concluded, he informed about Jagtar Tara’s acquittal.
This case was registered on September 28, 2009, in which the police alleged that Jagtar Singh Tara had illegally provided some funding. Those involved in this funding were sent to jail. A case was registered against Jagtar Singh Tara under Sections 17, 18, and 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act. Jagtar Singh Tara is currently serving a life sentence in the assassination case of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.
