The investigation has revealed that according to the inputs received by the Intelligence Agencies regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, the terrorists were targeting the Vande Bharat Train. When the date of its inauguration was postponed, the terrorists massacred the tourists in Pahalgam.
The terrorists wanted to execute their nefarious plans during PM Modi’s visit
The security agencies had received inputs that the terrorists wanted to execute their nefarious plans during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to flag off the first train from Katra to Srinagar. However, the Prime Minister’s visit scheduled for April 19 was postponed due to forecasts of strong winds in the Katra area.
Two local terrorists had already mingled with the tourists
Investigating officers said that what has come to light so far is that two local terrorists had already mingled with the tourists. As soon as the first shot was fired, they gathered the tourists in a food court complex, where two other Pakistani terrorists were present.
Satellite phone of banned company was used
An important revelation during the investigation of the Pahalgam terror attack has been that satellite phone of banned Chinese company Huawei was used in the Baisaran area during the attack. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) suspected that the phone was smuggled from Pakistan or some other country.
Chinese telecom companies Huawei and Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment (ZTE) are not allowed to sell equipment for 5G networks in the country. Although there is no explicit ban on them, Indian telecom companies have excluded Huawei and ZTE from the 5G rollout. This is because these companies do not meet the condition of a trusted source set by the central government. Due to security concerns related to Chinese equipment, Indian telecom companies are also ready to pay more money to use European equipment. The US, UK, Australia and New Zealand also banned Huawei from their 5G networks. These four countries are members of the Five Eyes intelligence sharing alliance along with Canada.
ISI and Pakistani army colluded with Lashkar-e-Taiba
Earlier, the NIA investigation has revealed the collusion of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and the army there with Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Pahalgam terror attack. The NIA has identified about 20 overground workers (OGWs) from the Kashmir Valley. They are accused of helping the attacking terrorists. The agency is interrogating all of them.
Investigation revealed that Lashkar had conspired with ISI and Pakistani Army to carry out the terrorist attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam. Two attackers Hashmi Musa alias Suleman and Ali Bhai alias Talha are Pakistani citizens. They were in constant touch with their masterminds sitting in Pakistan and were taking instructions from them. Investigation revealed that the attackers had entered Kashmir by infiltrating across the border a few weeks before the attack. They were helped in this by local OGWs. These local people provided the terrorists with accommodation and also gave them information about every inch of the area and helped them in movement. Sources say that the terrorists had conducted a recce of Baisaran Valley, Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and a local amusement park. Due to the weak security arrangements, the attackers targeted Baisaran.
More than 2800 people questioned, more than 180 detained

The detained suspects are over ground workers, people associated with various factions of Jamaat-e-Islami and Hurriyat.
