The actress broke down in tears while describing how she lost her father in childhood and was raised by her mother alone.

She’s been trolled for marrying into a Muslim family. Questions have been raised about her son’s upbringing, but she has spoken openly about every issue. Now, Devoleena has opened up about the hardships in her life.

Raised by her mother alone
Recently, Devoleena Bhattacharjee appeared on her friend Rashmi Desai’s podcast. There, she discussed matters related to marriage, children, and work. Devoleena also revealed that her childhood was full of struggles. The actress says, “My father passed away when I was a child. My mother raised us three siblings. I had two younger brothers, one of whom also passed away in childhood.”

“After my father passed away, my mother took care of all our needs. She gave us a good upbringing.” I’m amazed to think how she managed everything alone. Today, she owns three houses. She didn’t neglect our education. The great thing is that she was always sick. She has many ailments. She takes 18-19 medicines a day.

“I saw my mother in pain as a child. I used to feed her medicines like a child. If I had been gentle with her, she probably wouldn’t have taken them.” The actress said that despite all this, she still has to endure a lot of abuse. She broke down while talking about this.

Which religion will her son adopt?
Devoleena also spoke about the hatred she faced after marriage. She was also asked whether her son would follow Islam or Hinduism. To this, she said, “I’m from Assam. There’s a lot of unity among the people of Assam. I studied in a Christian school. I had many Muslim friends. I know that I live in India and I have only one religion.” Devoleena also told that her husband Shahnawaz Sheikh is younger than her, but is much more mature than her in many matters.
