Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah said that the Pakistani team suffered a humiliating defeat in the Champions Trophy and was eliminated from the tournament early. The Sharif government will take cognizance of this.
Rana said that the Prime Minister will personally talk about the extremely poor performance of the Pakistan team. He will raise the issues related to Pakistan cricket in Parliament and Cabinet. Rana said that even though the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is an independent body.
This board takes its own decisions. But he will appeal to the Prime Minister to raise the issue of the team’s defeat in Parliament and Cabinet. During this, the issue of appointment of Chairman (PCB) will also be raised.
Let us tell you that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 started on 19 February under the hosting of Pakistan. The opening match was between Pakistan and New Zealand. In this match, the Pakistan team had to face a crushing defeat by 60 runs.
After this, the Pakistan team played the second match against India on 23 February. In this match held in Dubai, the Indian team won by 6 wickets. In this way, in this tournament being played in its own hosting, the Pakistan team was eliminated after losing its 2 matches in the first 5 days.
However, in the group stage, the Pakistan team had to play its third i.e. last match against Bangladesh on Thursday (27 February). This match was to be held in Rawalpindi, but due to rain the match was completely washed out. In this way both the teams got 1-1 points.
