Ahmedabad: Following schools and courts, an attempt has now been made to target the Legislative Assembly in Gujarat. On Wednesday morning, the Gujarat Assembly received a threatening email warning that it would be blown up, triggering panic across the entire complex.
According to reports, the Assembly Secretary received an email around 9:00 AM today. This email contained a threat to bomb the Assembly premises. As soon as news of this threat emerged, security agencies were immediately put on high alert.
Typically, the Assembly session begins at 12:00 PM; however, today’s proceedings were scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM. Consequently, a significant number of MLAs, ministers, and staff members were present in the House.
Immediately upon receiving the threat, and in strict adherence to security protocols, the entire Assembly complex was evacuated. All MLAs, ministers, and employees were safely escorted out. Bomb disposal squads and police teams promptly arrived at the scene.
Courts and Schools Had Also Received Threats Earlier
Following the bomb threat, every nook and cranny of the Assembly premises is being thoroughly searched. Ministers and MLAs will be permitted to return to the House only after the entire investigation has been completed. In recent days, schools and courts in Gujarat had also received similar threatening emails, which subsequently turned out to be hoaxes.
